Newsletters
The club publishes a regular professionally printed full colour magazine, ‘The CSS Newsletter’, containing a round up of members’ caving trip reports, news, reviews, photos and more. This is produced quarterly and is sent to club members as well as UK and international caving clubs in a publication exchange scheme.
All newsletter issues from year 2000 onwards are available on this website as PDF files in the newsletter archive.

Printed copies are available to buy at CSS Whitewalls for £15.
Records, Journals and Special Publications
The club has long been actively involved in the exploration and surveying of underground features in the south east of England. These range from stone, chalk and sand mines, to Deneholes and natural chalk cavities and caves. Focus of attention has shifted to south east Wales in recent years and volumes 19, 28, 30 and 33 all contain articles on finds there. Volumes 21 and 25 describe explorations and finds in the far north of Norway.
With the exception of volumes 19 and 33 the club is no longer (as of 2025) offering the sale of printed copies; instead the majority of these publications are being made freely available as electronic downloads from this website. This is a work in progress – see the download links in table below for the volumes that are currently available.
A detailed contents list for these publications is available here: CSS Records Catalogue
Volumes 12 and 18 were compilation indexes of the previous volumes.
